A/Prof Raymond Sy

Associate Professor Raymond Sy is an academic cardiologist with a
special interest in heart rhythm disorders. He was awarded the
University medal in Medicine at the University of Queensland. He
received the Peter Bancroft Prize for his PhD at the University of
Sydney, as well as the Ralph Reader Prize, a prestigious research
award by the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. He then
completed a two-year fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing
at the University of Western Ontario in Canada.

Professor Sy has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts in the
areas of inherited arrhythmia syndromes, ablation of atrial and
ventricular arrhythmias, as well as testing of cardiac devices. He is an
invited faculty speaker at national and international conferences. He has
served as the editor for “Heart Rhythm and Device” section of Heart,
Lung, Circulation journal from 2011-2016, and currently serves on the
Editorial Board of Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology journal.

Professor Sy practices at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord
Hospital, Mater hospital, and Macquarie University Hospital. He is the
Director of Arrhythmia Service at Concord Hospital and he is also on the
academic staff at the University of Sydney.
